Proper use of penis pump?

I purchased several fun novelty toys for my husband and I. The penis pump that I purchased did not come with any instructions, so i wanted to know the proper safe way to use it. I also wanted to know the amount of time that I should pump for. Just using it as a fun little twist in bed. :)
