2001 Mercury Mountaineer: Cylinders 1, 2 & 8 misfiring?

Next thing to replace is the coil. You could have just one or there could be a smaller unit on each of the spark plugs. You said you replaced the spark plug wires, so sounds like you just have the one coil.
